Upon successful completion, learners will receive a qualification certificate allowing them to collect specimens legally.
Oral fluid testing offers significant advantages over traditional DOT urine testing, positioning it as the preferred method for the future. It is non-invasive, providing collectors and their donors with a comfortable and dignified experience while improving overall compliance. Oral Fluid testing also reduces the risk of tampering or adulteration, ensuring more accurate and reliable results. Most importantly, oral fluid drug testing enables detecting recent drug use within 24 to 48 hours, offering timely and relevant insights critical for safety-sensitive positions.
Whether you are beginning a career in drug testing or enhancing your current qualifications, this program delivers the knowledge, practical experience, and certification necessary to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry and meet the growing demand for DOT oral fluid collections.

DOT Oral Fluid Collector Training provides learners with a step-by-step process to perform DOT-compliant oral fluid drug tests. Unlike traditional urine testing, oral fluid collection involves obtaining a simple saliva sample, making the process faster, more comfortable, and less invasive.
Developed by Andrew David Easler, Esq., an attorney specializing in drug and alcohol testing, this Attorney Trusted® program has been rigorously reviewed by legal and industry experts to ensure it meets all DOT requirements and the highest professional standards. For learners, this means receiving training that is accurate, compliant, and recognized as credible by employers and industry leaders. Earning this certification ensures compliance and helps learners advance their careers with confidence in the growing field of workplace drug testing.
This 6-hour online course combines self-paced modules with live, instructor-led mock collections to give learners practical, hands-on experience. All necessary materials—textbooks, forms, and testing devices. Upon successful completion, learners receive a certificate allowing them to conduct DOT oral fluid collections.
DOT regulations require collectors to be trained and certified under 49 CFR Part 40.35. Collectors who lack proper training put employers at risk of non-compliance, resulting in invalid test results, legal penalties, costly re-testing, and safety hazards in safety-sensitive industries like transportation. Qualified collectors ensure that testing is performed accurately, reasonably, and fully aligned with federal regulations, reducing risks and maintaining workplace integrity.
Approved by the DOT in June 2023, oral fluid testing is emerging as the preferred method for workplace drug screening. It detects recent drug use within 24 to 48 hours, eliminates the need for restrooms, and reduces opportunities for tampering or adulteration. This method also promotes greater privacy and inclusivity, particularly for transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming individuals who may find traditional urine testing uncomfortable or stressful.
As demand for oral fluid testing grows, having Attorney Trusted® training sets learners apart. This training program not only offers learners the qualifications, practical skills, and compliance knowledge required to conduct collections accurately but also signals a strong commitment to professional standards to employers and stakeholders. Completing this course positions learners to confidently meet industry needs, advance their careers, and contribute to safer, compliant workplaces.
